Breakfast at Burger King

Monday, August 10, 2009

10th of Aug. I do not have to fly to India. Phew, what a relief. This way I can spend my holiday with Dear and Caden. So in the morning, we decided to go to Burger King at Simei East Point Mall for breakfast. Mother-in-law joined us for the morning feast as well as Father-in-Law who met us there. Took some photos of Caden eating hashbrown, Crossiant and drinking Milo. He loves dipping his food in tomato ketchup. After which, we wanted to go to NTUC Extra, but didn't realised that it no longer exist. How outdated I am. So instead we walked around the mall. Caden was fascinated by all the animals in the pet store when we were in there. After which, we ended up in NTUC and bought lots of groceries as he Milk Powder and Diaper was on a rare offer. Bought 1/2 dozen tins at one go. Heavy...

National Day Observance Ceremony

Sunday, August 9, 2009

Its Caden's 2nd National Day. But his 1st which he is able to understand what is going on and participate. He has a Singapore flag. A Singapore flag tattoo on his hand. Deardear even bought a National Day goodie bag for him. We decided to bring him to attend the National Day Observance Ceremony at the Geylang Serai Market. When we reached there, we saw fourth aunty and uncle. Then, deardear went to collect the goodie bag for Caden. Caden seems a little scared as it was too noisy there. However, after deardear showed him those things in the goodie bag, he was very excited to play with them. There is a drum like toy, a heart shaped light torch, some plain water, some packet drinks, a poncho etc. Caden kept playing with the drum. At 8.22pm, we said the pledge with many other people at the market. Its indeed a touching scene.

Someone even took a pic of Caden and me. I guess he must be one of the people from the CC who organised the Observance Ceremony. Whoa.. Our pic will be in the newsletter next month i guess. Haha..

After the pledge taking, we went over to fourth aunt's place. Caden enjoyed himself there playing with the balls fourth aunt took out for him.

At 9.10pm, we went back as Caden had to drink his milk and sleep.

Guan Yin Niang Niang's Birthday

Today is Guan Yin Niang Niang's birthday. Deardear and I decided to bring Caden to pray at the temple near our house in the morning. After his daily porridge and bath, together with my mum, we brought him to the Guan Yin temple. Upon reaching there, we saw lots of people and cars.

After praying, we took a cab down to Parkway Parade, as deardear and I wanted to buy a humidifier that can act as a purifier too. We checked out on Novita's NH 900 humidifier. Its able to humidify and emit UV rays from the mist to kill the bacteria in the air. My mum bought a fan for my dad. After buying all the necessary things, we took a cab back as its time for Caden to have his porridge.

After Caden had his porridge, he vomitted out the porridge. Think he has eaten too much so it was hurting his tummy. Luckily he vomitted out the porridge and felt better. Then my mum put him to bed to rest. He fell asleep in less than 10mins. Think he is very tired after a whole day of outing.

Visit to Ah Yee's house

At 11am, we went to Caden's Ah Yee's house at Buangkok Green. Caden had a great time sitting on the Little Tike's car that Ah yee rented out to mummies with young toddlers. And Caden get to play it for free.. Haha... Naughty boy even took a bath there as he was so sticky after his porridge. Time flies when we had fun. It was almost 2 when we left Ah yee's house. Caden was so tired that he fell asleep on the cab on the way home.

Sending off my Best friend in KCPSS

Sunday, August 2, 2009

This morning, deardear and I went to the airport at 8 am leaving Caden dear at home as its too early to bring him along. We went to send my best friend off to Japan. She is one of my best friends at workplace. Everyone says its difficult to find any friend at workplace but I count myself lucky to find 2. Yet one is leaving for Japan to pursue her dreams. She has been having the aspiration to teach in Japan. Finally, she has achieved her dream. She is accepted to teach in one of the high school in Fukuoka. As her good friend, I am really happy for her. However, on the other side, I really miss her alot.. She is my makan kaki, gossiping kaki... Now I have no one to makan and gossip with as my the other best friend is a guy and he is always busy...

There are many people to send her off... Her NPCC cadets, her good friends, her colleagues including me and her family... It was quite light hearted when we met her at the kopitiam at T3. However, when we arrived at the departure point, everyone became very solemn. I was glad no one cried as I was trying hard to hold back my tears and I know if someone cries, I will cry too.. Everyone of us took pic, hug her and wishes her all the best before she went in. Everyone was at the partition except her mother. I was trying to find her mother and at a corner, her mum was crying. I can fully understand how she feels. Its not easy to let her only daughter go to Japan on her own. However, as her mother, she has to support her daughter's dreams. Its really a dilemna that I would not like to face next time. This time, my tears finally roll out...

Meijun, all the best... Really hope that you will be happy realising your dream. Its indeed a bold decision to make and I salute to you for making such a decision which I will never dare to do so. Hope to see you again once you are back to Singapore.
