Happy Baby

On Tuesday, deardear and I have gone to Sim Lim Sq to get the IP camera to be placed in mummy's place. Hope that it will be useless as Baby Caden seems to be getting along fine with Tita who will be taking care of him. For the past whole week, we have been staying in Eunos because of the stove and Tita. I want to train her to do housework and take care of baby in our house. During this week, my parents have been visiting naughty boy occassionally and bring him down to the playground to play. He has been sleeping well and eating well. He has been eating the brown rice for 2 weeks and I have begin to mix milk to the brown rice so its more filling.

As the title said, deardear has just assembled baby's new toy yesterday. Today I let baby tried out his new toy... He seems so excited upon seeing his toy. He sat on it and play with the toys on it.. Guess what is his new toy???

Tita is in my house tonight

Finally, deardear and I went to Beauty World to bring Tita back to our Eunos home to start work. Today, deardear took half day leave... to settle the stove problem (will need to replace a new stove for free) and bringing Tita back to our place. Tita seems like a nice person. However, maid thing.. you will never know. Will try to get to know her better and find out what kind of person she is. Up till now, I only know she is a mother of 2 son - one is 4 yrs old and the other is 2 years old. She has 7 other siblings, youngest being 9 yrs old. Her husband works in the farm and takes care of the 2 sons. She has to work in Singapore to support her immediate family and her siblings too.

Another busy Sunday...

Since next week is the start of the Lunar 7th month, deardear and I have decided to bring baby to pray kwan yin this morning. We woke up at 7 am together with baby. Then I feed him his morning feed and bathe him. After doing all these, we brought him down to the Kwan Yin temple at Tembeling Road to pray. Caden baby slept on his way there and woke up with we arrived at the temple. After praying, we bought our lunch from Old Airport Hawker Centre. My fav - Kway Chap. Waited for half an hour then we managed to get our food. Upon reaching home, I called the Bellari man -Mr Thomas to check about the melting of my stove support. He said that he will arrange for a technican to check tomorrow as they do not work on sunday. As a result, we have to stay over at Eunos for one more night. (Actually, I love my house.. Serene and spacious.. So I do not mind staying over for one more night. Hehe) Then I realised that there isn't enough milk powder for baby to last till tomorrow. Thus, we brought baby out again to Paya Lebar NTUC to get his milk powder and some necessities after an afternoon nap of 3 hours (for deardear only as I have to wake up halfway to feed baby and put him to sleep). At NTUC, we bought a bottle of Heniz baby fruits for Caden. It consists of apple, banana and berries. He enjoyed his fruits so much that he kept pushing my hands into his mouth during every feed. Will be giving him more of such fruits and vegetables. As deardear and I dislike vegetables, we have to train baby to take some.

Baby 5th Month Bday..

Its baby's 5th month birthday today. However deardear was supposed to work full day today as its the last sat of the month. Luckily they are allowed to go off at 12pm as there is nothing much for them to do. So we decided to feed baby with his brown rice cereal then proceed to Suntec City. We had our lunch at the Hosei Teppanyaki House. Gosh.. Its a big big regret going there. Haha.. The food tasted like the Express Teppanyaki at the foodcourt yet the price is bout 50% more. We will never go there anymore!!! Then, we went around Carrefour to look for baby's necessities and Chloe's birthday present. We planned to get her a bicycle.. Shh.. Cannot tell her yet.. Haha.. As for baby Caden's 5th month present, its a baby gap full attire (dunno what to call it), a customised CD with his name sang in every songs and a Mary had a little lamb hand puppet. The customised CD will have to be collected next week as its customised specially for baby Caden.

Baby has learnt how to bring his leg to his mouth, all thanks to his "po po". Not only that he is beginning to "pu..." (噴口水) with the help of his "po po" too. Haha.. My mummy has always been teaching him the weird things - sticking out of tongue, eating his feet and 噴口水. Though he has always been doing weird things, he looks really cute doing them. I tried taking some pic of baby Caden eating his sock and its not easy. As he is so excited whenever I bring my hp near him, he will let go of his feet or socks that he is pulling and started shaking both his hands and legs. I also took a video of him "pu-ing". Haha...

Tita has arrived..

According to my maid agent, Tita has arrived in Singapore on Thursday night. She is down for medical checkup today and thumbprint making tomorrow. So by early August, we will be getting the maid in our house. So am I looking forward or not? I also dunno... Sigh...

Cousin Chloe

Yesterday night, Aunt Cher Ting and Cousin Chloe came over to my mummy's place to play with Caden. However, deardear and I have brought baby to Sim Lim Sq as we need to get some survillence camera for my mummy's place. Then we had dinner at Sim Lim Sq and went to OG to get some thing for baby. At about 8.30pm, we went back home as deardear had conference call. At home, we took some pic of cousin Chloe "carrying" Caden and Caden kissing cousin Chloe. Baby Caden seems to enjoy the company of cousin Chloe.

Cooked the Brown Rice powder for baby Caden yesterday afternoon. However it turned out watery. Mum insisted that I have added too much water.. Sigh.. Anyway I added milk to the mixture for him. Maybe thats why its watery. He only drink about half the bowl of the mixture. Then I make milk for him to drink. Wanna take pic of me feeding him. However I have to feed him on my own so did not take any pic.

This morning, mummy make the mixture for him again. This time without milk so its a little thick. He seems to enjoy himself in the beginning. However after about 10 plus scoops, he refuses to eat anymore.. Keeps spitting out the mixture. So I make milk for him to drink then. Dunno if its a good idea to feed him this way or just mix it with the milk for him to drink? Sigh.. Another headache. Will monitor for a few more days and see how.

After eating, mum bathes him as usual. However, this time, mum keeps asking me to take a video of him bathing as he loves to kick in the bath tub as if he is swimming and its so cute. So I took a video of his naked body in the bath tub.. But I think its too obscene.. Too much exposure of his little kuku.. So I will not upload here. Haha.. Those interested do come and look for me as I have it in my handphone.. Haha..

Deardear and I went to Beauty World where our maid agency is located just now. Its called Acceptus Employment Agency. Its a small shop which we can't even find it on the website. So wondering why we will engage this maid agency. The owner, Bee Chin, is deardear's director's, Johnny's, friend. She sounded like a nice lady over the phone when I first spoke to her. She promised to source a good maid who has the experience of baby care. Finally she found a Phillipino maid, Tita. According to Tita's "resume", she is married with 1 child of 3 yrs old. She wanted to come to Singapore to work again as she needs to support her family of 6 to 7 siblings and her child. She used to be working in Singapore 3 years ago for 4 years under a same employer. According to Bee Chin, Tita seems to have a good record. So deardear and I decided to take her after much consideration. She will be arriving in Singapore soon. On one hand, I am quite happy as we have extra help. On the other, I am afraid of losing all the privacy that we used to have when we have 1 stranger at home. It reminds me of the confinement nanny and how much stress I used to have when she stayed with us for the 4 weeks of confinement. Hopefully she will be a good maid and we can stay together happily.

Not the 1st in Baby Contest

The title says it all. Despite how hard deardear tried, we still lose to the family of Tay. Why did I say we lost instead of baby? Because Caden is still the cutest baby to us so he will never lose. As for us, we lost to getting more votes and keying in of votes for him. Anyway, it doesn't matter that he is not the 1st in the Baby Contest, he is always the 1st in our heart. Hehe..

Anyway, deardear and I are really not that bothered of winning.. like I have told everyone.. Its creating a memory for baby Caden. By the way, my mummy has bought him a new "floor" as the mattress is too small for him now.

Just now, I tried to make baby Caden to sit on his Bumbo which my mummy has bought for him. He do not seems to enjoy it.. and he is not sitting upright.. He keeps leaning forward and only tried to sit upright when my dad (his gong gong) called him or play with him..

Another swimming day...

After purchasing the "swimming pool" for more than 1 month, baby has not tried swimming in it yet. For the past few weeks, its because of his cough and flu and last week its because of his upcoming vaccination. Since this week he is perfectly ok for the whole week, deardear and I decided to let him swim. We prepared the pool and his neck float at 10 am. We took more than 30 min to fill up the pool.. At around 11am, we put him in the pool to swim. In the beginning, he seems to be enjoying himself. After 15 min, he seems to be sleepy and started making noises.

While he is in the water, my in-laws came and they started to play with him after his clean up. They stayed for about 2 hours. During their stay, they played with baby Caden and sided him throughout when we scolded him. What amused me the most is my in-laws commenting that we should not scold him as he will not understand at all. However, I feel that he is able to understand if we are angry. So at this age, we have to be strict with him. Cannot let him "bully" us. There is a chinese saying: 子不教,父之过. Thats why deardear and I feel that its our duty to make him a better person. We will love him but it will be in our heart.

Busy Saturday..

At 8 am when I am still in my la-la land, I heard my door bell ring.. Its Aunt Jean. She is here to see the naughty boy. She even bring him down to the market for a walk. Baby Caden really enjoyed the walk early in the morning.

In the late morning, for the first time, I tried bringing baby Caden out on my own, with his stroller too. Moreover, I did not take cab to meet deardear at Tampines Mall. I took train. So with baby in front in the baby carrier, my mama bag at the back and stroller pulled by my right hand, Caden and I "ventured" to Tampines Mall in a train. Actually I was standing though there were seats as I wanna to let baby see the scenaries outside of the train. However, he was tired after a short while. Thus, I have to put him into his stroller so he can sleep. Its really a task to do so as I have to open the stroller, take him out of the carrier and put him down in the stroller. I did it all by myself, though there is a very nice lady who offered her help. There are indeed some nice and helpful Singaporeans around. However, after arriving at Tampines MRT station, baby Caden was so fascinated by the "new" surroundings and he ended up staying awake throughout. We had our usual Teppanyaki lunch - the cheaper version as I am on unpaid leave now.. Haha.. Then baby is hungry so we had to feed him in the baby room. Again, he created so much noise in the baby room that I suspect that people outside must be thinking we are torturing him. Haha..

At night we have visitors too.. Then we went out with Uncle Eugene and Aunty Rain again for dinner. Uncle Eugene suggested a Jap restaurant at Kallang Leisure Park. However, the parking is full due to NDP. We ended up eating at Katong Village - Waraku. Yum yum.. By the time we started eating, Caden is fast asleep in his stroller. Guess he really enjoyed taking Uncle Eugene's car for a ride. By the time we are home, its almost 10.30pm and deardear and I are really deadbeat tired. Its indeed a busy saturday - of fun of course..

Baby Caden is leading in the weekly baby contest held by mumcentre. Finally, after some rounds of 1st to 2nd then to 1st then to 2nd.. He is finally leading. However, I guess it will only be a short while. Haha.. The parents of the other baby is also very aggressive in getting votes for their baby.

Got many people to vote for him and even deardear and I have tried many different emails to vote for him. Gosh... He is so cute.. Better than the others I believe.. Hehe.. Huimin Ah Yee has 4 votes.. I am really "flying" high after seeing all the nice replies about baby. Feel so proud of him. Thank you everyone for voting for him. However, I feel quite sad as he has shrink in size recently... His face is smaller.. Tummy is flatter.. Arm is skinnier.. Thigh is smaller.. Sobsob..

Deardear took half day leave to bring baby for his second 5in1 jab and his last dose of Rotavirus. We left home at 1 plus and took a bus down to United Sq which is where baby's PD, Doc Ong, is located. Wanted to eat our lunch first. However, its a little too rush so we decided to get Ben & Jerry for munchies first. The sweet cream & cookies and chocolate therapy is really great. Then we walked around United Sq while waiting for Doc Ong to be back from his lunch. During this time, baby was a little sleepy so I tried to pat him to sleep. When its baby's turn to see the PD, he was still sleeping like a log. So Doc Ong has to inject him when he is sleeping. However, maybe its painful that Caden woke up crying. Poor Caden. Doc Ong also tried feeding him Rotavirus vaccination which made him cried even more. We immediately use his fav toy to pacify him. After a while, he stopped crying.

After which, we went to the Hwa Xia and asked about the Taimaobi.. Its so ex to make one. Cost almost $300 to make a simple one as souvenir. So we decided not to make it. As we were at the kids section, I saw some nice rompers on sale so deardear bought two for baby. Then we proceed to Bugis to eat and buy deardear's working shoes. However, baby has to drink his milk so we wasted lots of time feeding him and not much time to look at deardear's shoes. As a result, we did not buy deardear's working shoes today. Hopefully tomorrow we can get his shoes. Though its a short family outing as baby just gotten his jab, I do enjoy this short time of shopping as a small family. Looking forward to more of such family outing.

Who is more fortunate?

Me or deardear? Deardear always say that I am his lucky star. His life changes a lot after knowing me, for the better of course. For example, getting his degree, changing his job, getting married, having baby, getting promotion. So he often says that its his fortune to know me. However, sometimes I really wonder who is the fortunate one.

After knowing deardear, my life changes too. We went through a lot just to get together. In the beginning, mum really dislikes deardear as she felt that its him who cause the breakup between my ex-bf and me. My mummy really likes my ex-bf because of his nature and his ability to take care of me. Yet, she did not see the fact that we are not happy together. Our breakup is sooner or later as we quarrelled almost everyday. And I used to bully my ex-bf so often that I wonder do I really love him anot. Many people ask me to reconsider as my ex-bf is quite well to do and deardear is just a pauper.

When I first know him, his pay is so miserable and he had no savings as he needed to pay for his own degree. However, what really makes me admire him is that he paid for his own education starting from his poly years onwards. He started working when he was 16 to 17 years old. Gosh, I remembered at that age I am still using my parents' money and my only worry is to get good grades. Whereas for him, at that age he had to worry about his school fees and daily meals. He is so independent and flexible that he can support himself no matter what. That is what attracts me to him. I know I can depend on him for the rest of my life. I remember that he once promise me that he will work hard and give me the luxuries in life. And now he has fulfill it. He has worked real hard and even managed to be on par with my pay. Besides working so hard to give me whatever I want in monetary sense, he also pampered me alot in other sense.

From the time when I married him till now, I have not regretted a single bit though when we quarrelled I will say hurting things to him. He has also been supportive of whatever I do and loving in all ways. Even when I was pregnant, he gave in to all my unreasonable complains. Now that I am no longer pregnant, he still helps me with all the housechores as he knows that I am tired and frustrated at times after taking care of baby for the whole day. This morning, he really surprises me by feeding Caden at 6am, washing his clothes and mopping the floor before 8am. He did all these so that I can sleep longer and don't feel stress about doing housechores when I wake up. I really feel so loved. Thank you deardear.

P.S: I think I am the more fortunate one. I have a caring mother and father, understanding & loving deardear and cute cute baby Caden. Thank you everyone for making a difference in my life.

Visit to Uncle James and Aunt Eunice's New Home

Since baby Caden has been better for the past few days, we have decided to bring him out.. Finally.. Baby is very excited and happy upon hearing that we are bringing him out.

Finger Sucking habit...

We brought baby to deardear's sec sch friend, James, newly decorated home. Lucky for us, Uncle Alvin came to pick us up in his doraemon car. Uncle James's and Aunt Eunice's house is at Toa Payoh. When we first stepped into the house, I was taken back by the extravagant design of the house. It looks like a condo showroom. I noticed there is alots of glass shelving to display Aunt Eunice's figurines, a BIG mirror at the living room and a look through glass wall/door to the kitchen. They combined two rooms into the master-bedroom. They even have a nice long walk-in wardrobe. The common toilet is black in colour with a very "high tech" mirror. Guess it might be very ex. According to deardear, the reno costs about $50k, not including the furnishing and all the electrical stuff.. Gosh.. Its a high class house.. It indeed looks very nice and well-decorated. However, if you ask me, I will probably not spend this amount of money unless I am really rich.

After touring the house, we went up to the sky garden at 12th storey for the buffet they have catered. Its indeed a nice place. So serene and windy too. Baby Caden woke up from his short nap and started to play with the uncles and aunties (Deardear's friends). However, after a while, he started to sulk and cry. Think that he is beginning to recognise people. Therefore, we stayed for a short while and bring him home.
