The 6th day of CNY

This morning, deardear decided to bring baby Caden out for a walk. So we decided to go to Parkway Parade after his first meal of porridge. To look for his 1st bday clothes. Deardear suggested in getting a suit. However, after much discussion, we felt its a waste of money to get a suit whereby he only wear once. Thus, we decided to get something less ex and look presentable. However, after walking around for an hour, we have no idea what to get...

So we decided to proceed for our lunch... as it is also baby 2nd porridge meal time. Deardear and I fed baby while Tita eat her lunch. While feeding baby, we noticed a sudden change in his face... he seems to be forcing something out of his body... His whole face turned red.. We concluded that he pooed.. So deardear decided to double check by smelling his buttock.. It was a bad move.. Guess after the smell, he lost all his appetite in his lunch. Then Tita and I brought baby to the changing room and changed his diaper.

After lunch, we went home as baby is tired and we wanted him to have more rest so we can bring him out for a gathering at deardear's friend (Uncle Dennis) house - an annual event during CNY.

After baby woke up from his nap, we fed him and bathed him. At around 6pm, we left for Uncle Dennis house. There was another baby at Uncle Dennis house already. Its Uncle Say Yong's daughter. Oops I forgot her name. Maybe will ask baby Caden tomorrow and see if he remembered. Both of them hugged each other quite a few times and she kissed our precious a few times too. So maybe baby will remember her. Haha..

Uncle Dennis catered dinner at his place and we had 'lo hei' after dinner. As there was more than 20 people doing the lo hei, I decided to carry baby and do not lo hei as I am afraid the guys will start to splash the things all around us. After taking a grp photo, we had to leave as baby was a little cranky and sleepy.

Baby Ninja..

Just came back from Eunos.. As my mummy is not working today, we decided to spend one more day at our resort. I left for sch from Eunos.. Wasn't feeling quite well since yesterday. However, can't afford to take MC as I have loads of work to do and give my students. So intend to come home early to see doc instead.

When I finished my last lesson at 2pm, I got a very pleasant surprise from my family.. My mum, deardear and baby was at my seat waiting for me to go home. Deardear decided to surprise me by bringing them all to pick me up as he knew I wasn't feeling too well. But, as I wasn't feeling too well and was overwhelmed with the loads of work, I was angry with deardear.. I sounded harsh asking him why he had to bring baby on a hot day to my workplace and that they are making me stressed as I have to rush to pack my stuff to go home. Come to think of it, it was a real good intention from deardear side. Thank you deardear for making me day better though I was more stressed.

Then when we arrived home, I immediately went to see the doc to get some medication - for my bodyache.. After taking the medicine, I had a solid 3 hours of sleep and felt better. At 8 plus, my dad called and asked if we are ready to go home as he is near my place so he can pick us up. Thank you deardear for everything...

Baby Caden first Chinese New Year - Day 2

Woke up feeling achy throughout my whole body. Popped some medicine to ease the ache and pain but did not work. Actually think I brought it upon myself. Haha.. Last night, deardear and I decided to go out for a night walk as we have a car so can go for a spin - just the two of us. He drove to East Coast Park (Big Splash) and we walked along the beach for a short while. Then we bought some supper (Carls Junior) and proceeded with a car spin. Silly deardear kept insisting to go see Ah Kwa at Changi Village so he drove there. Spotted 2 and deardear intended to say "happy new year" to them. After which he drove to airport (my fav place) to see the aeroplanes. Beginning to enjoy the car.. How I wish we have a car too... Haha.. But the question is - how often do we drive? So we have decided - NO cars...

After a romantic night, I ended up having bodyache as I sleep late and baby still have to wake up in the middle of the night and make noise.. haha.. So this morning, I was a little goggy when we went for visiting. Overall, today, we went 2 places only - my eldest and youngest aunt place (Dad side). One in the morning and one in the evening... Was too tired and sick to travel more. Moreover we had to return the car today too so can't travel much.

Baby Caden first Chinese New Year - Day 1

Today is baby's 11th month birthday and also 1st day of the Lunar New Year.

The past 2 days we have been having reunion dinner at deardear and my parents' place. Feel so fat now.. haha...

This morning, we woke up at 7.15am as baby woke us up. After drinking his milk, we let him play around and bathed him. At 8.45am, he went to take his usual morning nap till 10.20am. Then deardear drove us to deardear's granny house at Ris Grandeur. (rented a car for the CNY) Its a nice condo. Had a small chat with deardear's aunt and uncle while waiting for my in-laws to come. Next, we visited my mother-in-law's brother's house at Sunset Way. A nice semi-d with a nice pond filled with fish and terrapins. Baby Caden loves looking at the fish and terrapins. There is also 2 dogs in the house. Surprisingly, baby Caden is not even afraid of them. He even tried to sayang them. Unless my sister-in-laws, both so scared of the dogs that they do not dare to move around. Last stop, we came back to my grandmother and parents' place to 拜年. After which, we rushed home to feed baby his porridge.

In the evening, we came back to my parents' place for dinner as usual. (Its the usual practice we do every CNY.) Then we went back to our home with my mum as she staying over at my place tonight.

Later deardear and I intend to go out for some 二人世界 as my mum is helping us look after him tonight and we have a car to go for a spin. :)

Preparation for 1st Year Birthday Celebration

Baby will turn 11 months tomorrow which is also the first day of the Lunar New Year. However, deardear and I are having headache as we are busy planning for his 1st yr birthday celebration.. Haha..

What kind of cakes? Where to eat? How to invite? What to wear? Which date and time? Sigh...

Been going onto internet to search for special kind of birthday cake for baby.. Kind of set our heart on croquembouche - some kind of pastries.. So baby will have a special 'birthday cake' which is not a cake.. Tried it at one of colleagues ROM celebration. Though its ex, its very special and tastes quite nice.. Anyway, I told my mum - its once in a lifetime matter to baby.. He will not go through a second 1st year old birthday celebration so lets make it big for our only precious..

As for places for the celebration, we have called up Lao Beijing and check up on its hi tea buffet. As its nearer to my grandma place, it will be easier for her to travel there too. However, they mentioned they are in the mist of revising the pricing and menu so we will have to wait for them to get back to us by next week..

As for dates, it will be 21st Feb afternoon so that my dad can make it too. Will confirm all details and update here again...

My precious is able to recognise a lot of things but recently he had added to his talent of saying 'ball' and 'apple'. Thus, deardear decided to ask the naughty boy to try doing it when we just came back from work...

We started off playing with him and letting him wear the shrek headband.. Then.. deardear tried very hard to coax him into saying 'ball' and 'apple' using the flashcard.. But naughty jus refused.. Hope to capture more video of him saying things..

Baby Caden's first 8 steps to Mama

Just now, baby Caden started to take his first few steps to walk towards me. I was really overjoyed seeing such scene... Immediately carried him up once he reached me... Looking forward to more of such scene so I can video it down. :)

Baby can say "Apple"

Baby is beginning to say words with 2 syllabus.. He started with 'mama', 'papa' then 'ammm', 'mum mum', 'ma' and now 'ball ball' and 'apple'. Will try to teach him more..

However, he will not say it all the time.. Just sometimes when he is happy and feel like it.. Tried forcing him to say jus now.. Did not work.. Sigh... He even ended up going crazy and become angry - guess I have kept asking him to say too many times.. The whole of today I kept asking him to repeat 'apple' to me.. Recorded it into my hp.. Hehe..

Back @ Eunos..

Now we are back at Eunos.. And baby is sleeping as he did not sleep for 3 hours since the last time he woke up at 2pm for his porridge.

We went to doc at 11am and Doc Ong diagnose him as throat infection and runny nose. Seems like its due to us bringing him out on wed and so he might have gotten infected. Sigh.. Why my precious so poor thing? It brings me back to the time when he was first month old.. Why I just cannot provide him with breast milk.. Seems like his immunity level will be stronger if I am able to do so.. really regret it.. Why didn't I kept trying and trying.

The weather is getting colder and colder.. My poor boy seems to have gotten a cold from the cold wind... Nowadays, we never switch on the air con to sleep. Think the wind is colder than the air con. Anyway, my precious had gotten flu and sore throat due to the cold wind. Therefore, I decided to take leave today to bring him see doc. Mummy ask me why should I take leave as its such a minor thing. However, I really felt guilty for not being by his side the last time when he was down with fever and stomach flu.. At least now I do not have impt duties to fulfill in school, I want to be by his side. He was very cranky esp at night.. Woke up in the middle of the night and cried.. Sigh.. Mayb he is feeling very uncomfortable or mayb he is teething.. Sigh.. Dunno why...

Though felt a little uneasy as I have to miss my lessons with the students, I do feel good spending time at home with my precious.. Its indeed time well spent and worth it. However, I know I will have loads of work to catch up next week and tonnes of marking to do.. sigh..

Haircut for CNY 2009

As cny is approaching, my mum decided to bring our precious for a haircut as his hair is getting longer and thicker. So we made an appt with the hairdresser near our house. This salon is where my mum cuts her hair too. So my mum went in the morning to color her hair for the cny and we brought baby down at 11 am after his porridge to cut his hair.

He looks like an army boy after his hair cut... So neat and short. However, it also make him looks slimmer as his face shape is more obvious now.. He has gone down quite a lot after his stomach flu and fever. Just hope he can recover fast and put on fast..

I am sick...

Woke up at 5am today to check on baby's diaper as I thought I smelt some poo smell. Lucky there wasn't any. He has not had diarrhae for the past 16 hours. Hope he will carry on like that forever. But I still change his diaper. In the process of changing his diaper, he was awaken by us. So we tried to put his to bed and also fed him his morning feed of milk as I thought he might be hungry. Then he went back to sleep again till 8am.

As I felt a terrible pain in my throat and did not feel too well, deardear ask me to take more rest and he woke up to bathe baby and play with him. When I finally wake up at 8.45am, my mum was already here to see her precious too. At 9 am, she left for work. Then I went down to see doc as I felt very tired and had terrible pain in my throat. Didn't dare to go close to baby today. And so Tita took care of baby under my instruction of pooing baby, feeding him porridge and apple. Baby pooed normal poo.

In the afternoon, I went to rest while deardear went for his army briefing. Tita carried on taking care of him until deardear is back. After the rest and eating of medicine, I felt better.

At night, we brought baby to the pa sa malam to look at the carnival and look for new year decor. We did not buy anything as baby was a little tired so we went back soon after.

Missing Baby..

Woke up at 4am in the morning as baby was crying very terribly and mummy smelt something in his bum. Baby had diarrhae again. He must be in terrible pain thus he is cried till so terribly. At 5 plus, he had a second diarrhae. Again this time he cried very terribly. The poo was so watery and yellowy.. He is really suffering a lot!!!

Was tempted to take child care leave today however today is the last day of Sec 1 Orientation which will end with a campfire at night. No easy to pass this big job to others.. Therefore, mum volunteered to take leave to take care of baby for today. Really appreciate her a lot.. If not, I really do not know what to do with such a maid. Dun think she puts in effort in taking care of my precious..

Though I was in school the whole day, I really missed baby a lot. Do not know what has happen to him, do not know if he is getting better, do not know so many things.. Been calling back a few times. Can't really concentrate in my work yet cannot make any mistake... Sigh.. At 1 plus when I called back, mum told me baby has a bruise at his left eye as he missed his step and hit the cabinet. Was so heartbroken but can't blame anyone for it as he is indeed a very naughty boy.. But the good news is that he is recovering from his diarrhae. This puts me at ease a little.

The whole orientation ended at 9.30pm and Derrick drove me back home.. When I was home, baby was already asleep. When I saw the bruise at his left eye, I was really sad that I cried..This naughty boy should learn a lesson by now.

Today is deardear and my 3rd year ROM anniversary.. However, still have to go to school.. Deardear surprised me with a photo frame in the morning. So touched.. I almost forgotten about today...

Baby woke up cranky and with flu. Was little worried.. However still have to go sch as I am in charge of Sec 1 Orientation from 7 to 9 Jan. Was busy the whole day in school until 2 plus when mum called me and said that baby had diarrhae twice in the day. I immediately delegated my job to another of my colleague and rushed home to bring baby to see Doc Ong.

At Aglow, Doc Ong has concluded that baby had bloated stomach and flu and he suspected baby had Stomach Flu. Doc Ong gave baby some flu medicine and diarrhae medicine.

After reaching home I immediately gave baby his medicine and put him to bed. Was very pissed with Tita as she did not call me immediately baby had his first diarrhae and even gave him papaya.. Poor baby.. suffered so much before I brought him to the doc. So when deardear came home, he reprimanded Tita for her carelessness in her work and slow in reacting when baby was not feeling well.

Just hope that baby will get well soon...

Down with Fever again

Baby Caden was down with fever again early this morning. All of us woke up at 4 plus again as baby was a little cranky. After taking his temp, I was beginning to worry again. His temp is 37.8 degrees. However, he is still sleepy. I have decided to let him sleep a little longer till 6 am when he wakes up before feeding him medicine.

When he woke up at 6 am, his temp has risen to 38.2 degrees. Mummy immediately feed him with fever medicine. Subsequently, his fever has gone down to 37.6 degrees. After monitoring for another few hours, we decided to give him another feed of medicine. Finally, at 12pm, his fever has subsided completely. From then onwards, Tita did not feed him any medicine. And according to Tita, baby had diarrhea - had watery stools twice today. After letting out the watery stools, he seems to feel better and no more fever.

I felt very guilty as I can't come home early. Reached home only at 7.30pm as I had work to do and had CCA today. Poor baby... Miss him so much today..
