Celebration of Baby's 1st Bday with my in-laws

Woke up with bodyaches again.. Sigh.. Hate to be sick during weekend esp its so precious to me and my family. Moreover, I have 9 stacks of papers to mark for the weekend. How can I afford to be sick? Sigh...

However, I have no choice but to force my body to go on.. In the morning, I marked 3 stacks of papers so that in the afternoon I can join my in-laws for baby's 1st birthday celebration.

At 12.30pm, my father-in-law came and pick us up to Novena Sq for lunch. We had lunch at Zhou Zhuang. Baby seems to enjoy himself alot although when he first saw them he was a little scared. He seldom sees my in law so he feels a little unfamiliar with them. However, after some warming up, he kept smiling and playing with them.

After lunch, we walked around Novena Sq for a while and brought baby back home as he was a little tired.

Upon reaching home, the three of us went to take our afternoon nap as baby is tired, I am sick and deardear worked late last night. We slept all the way from 3pm to 6.30pm. Haha.. Indeed a good nap. But as for me, I still do not feel that good after all. Maybe I have not fully recover from my illness a month ago. But no choice.. Still have to work hard and mark my papers later tonight.. And have to set papers for students too. What a way to celebrate my weekend.

Caden Teo Xu Jie's Birthday

Its baby Caden's actual birthday today. Last night, I place him to sleep with deardear and I. Reminds me of the past - a year ago... I remembered at 2 plus in the morning, I felt some pain in my stomach.. Thinking its stomach upset, I went to the toilet tonnes... And deardear even tell me to go to sleep as the pain will go off after I sleep... Sad to say, it did not go off. It was there every half hourly but I tried to ignore it. However at 6am in the morning, while I was bathing, i noticed some blood... Then I concluded I am giving birth to Caden baby that day. I even have the time to delegate all my jobs via email to my colleagues before visiting my gynae at 9 plus in the morning. My god... its seems like yesterday... Time really passes very fast... Caden baby is already 1 year old.

According to deardear, baby was in a very good mood today. Kept smiling at everyone... Maybe its because he knows that its his birthday today. Deardear took half day leave so that we can go out as a family to celebrate his birthday. As for me, I asked permission to rush out of school after my last lesson at 2pm.

Deardear brought baby to school to pick me up. Then we took a cab to Marina Sq. Actually we were planning to take the Singapore Flyer. However, it was raining cats and dogs so we decided to shop around Marina and Suntec.

We had lunch at Imperial Treasure. Let baby try some new food like minced pork from the xiao long bao and prawn.

Then we brought baby to shop around Marina. Bought him some clothes from Fox baby... He tried walking on his own in Marina Sq. His 1st time walking around shopping centre on his 1st birthday. After which we proceeded to Suntec and made baby his first bear - Caden bear. Same birthday day and time as baby Caden. He was all involved in the making of the bear like choosing the bear skin, trying to stuff the bear with cotton, choosing a heart, brushing the bear and choosing clothes. He loves his bear a lot and hug the bear as if its his friend.

Finally, we walked home from Suntec and bought some food for dinner on our way back. By then baby was already very tired so he fell asleep in my arms for almost an hour.

When we reached home, he woke up. Da yi po and Chloe jiejie is also here to celebrate his birthday. Po po bought him an agar agar 'cake' and we all sang birthday song for him once again... Though simple but an enjoyable birthday celebration.

Caden's Birthday Celebration

At 2.20am, deardear and I arrived at Lao Beijing waiting for our decor man to turn up to decorate the room. However, the decor man came in at 2.45pm. But he managed to do up the place before all our guests arrive.

At around 3.05pm, all our guests started to come in and baby Caden also arrived at around that time too. As I was still goggy from my medicine, I was just going through the momentum again - like my wedding.. haha.. Everyone finally arrived at about 3.45pm. Deardear and I then has the chance to sit down to eat. Baby seems to enjoy himself alot. He was carried around by everyone and smiled at everyone.

At around 4.55pm, we have the cake cutting ceremony. Everyone was awed by his special birthday 'cake'. Even baby was also engrossed by his cake. Kept looking at the cake... Then everyone started to sing birthday song and I think baby was a little blur... When asked to blow the candle, he just stared at the candle.

After eating the profiteroles and clearing up the room, the celebration has finally ended. We took a cab back home as deardear need to rush to his camp site as there is a mobilisation exercise for his unit. When we reached home, we took some more pic of baby and then bathed him.

He was so tired then as he did not take his usual nap in the afternoon. At 7pm, he fell asleep and I guess he will sleep all the way till tomorrow morning...

Sigh.. as for deardear, he will only be home tomorrow.. I am so sick and tired... How I wish our small family is together now... Miss deardear...

Before the BIG celebration

This morning, me woke up feeling very terrible as I was still down with sore throat, bodyaches and worked late last night.. Sigh... But I know its baby's BIG day so I have to carry on no matter what... Lucky my mummy was around to help me take care of baby in the morning so I can have a good rest and do some of my work.

The handsome boy was so happy today.. even helped my mummy to clean the window.. Now baby is trying to imitate what people are doing and he was so eager to follow what my mum does.

Moreover, he is beginning to walk more on his own and for a longer time.. This silly boy... is the same as his papa... loves soccer ball... While trying to balance himself and walking, he tried to kick any ball he sees on the floor...

While waiting for papa to be home after work, I am secretly praying hard for papa not to be mobilised today for army as its baby's big day... Our family BIG day... Sigh...
