Papa & Mama's 4th Proposal Anniversary

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Its deardear and my 4th year proposal anniversary. So fast time has flown. I still can remember the day deardear proposed to me. He took a whole day leave to plan for the proposal. Rented a car to prepare the proposal but only picked me up at home at 5 pm. I almost burst with anger. He wasted so much time to prepare when he can just bring me out the whole day in the rented car. Wasted the rented car too. Worst of all, he told me that we are going for dinner with his buddy yet he insisted that I wear a dress. Knowing me, I am not a person who likes to go out in dress. Thus I was suspicious. I kept questioning until he told me the truth. Haha... Finally, I got dressed. He brought me to Jaan. Its on top of the Raffles City Shopping Centre. Its so romantic. He had informed the waiter and waitress of my arrival and the purpose and planned for a good time to give me the ring. Surprisingly, I was not so touched. Maybe I felt so pai sei. But the best is not then. After dinner, we decided to make full use of the car. Deardear drove me to somewhere near the airport to see airplane as he knows I love to see airplane taking off. At the place, deardear took out a card that he made with 10 commandments that he has written for me. He promised me 10 things as a hubby. Up till now, he is still faithfully keeping his promises. That was the time that I cried. I was so touched by his 10 commandments.

That was 4 years ago.. Haha... SO today deardear took half day leave to bring me out. We decided to go to ION as we have never been there before. Did not spend much time there. Just had lunch and walked around for about an hour. We even went into the Asia's largest LV shop. Nothing much for me to buy though I am never interested in branded stuff. Haha.. Then we proceeded to Taka. There is a baby fair but nothing much for us to buy. Finally, its 4pm. We had to bring Caden back as he seems a little tired. Thats how we celebrated our 4th proposal anniversary.

Caden's 18th Month Check and Injection

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

This morning, I brought Caden for his 18th month check and injection. Its a little overdue as deardear and I did not have time to bring him to Doc Ong.

Finally, I had the time today to bring him to see Doc Ong for his check. At Doc Ong, he checked on Caden and asked a few things. Caden tried to imitate Doc Ong and Doc Ong was surprised. Doc Ong mentioned that Caden is very good at his words as he can say words of more than 3 syllabuses. He was also surprised that Caden can walk up the stairs without any help occasionally.

Then Doc Ong started to take out Caden's 18th month jab (1st booster DPT/DT vaccine). Caden was so engrossed. I was so worried that my precious will cry and create a big fuss. Luckily he was calm. When Doc Ong injected into his left thigh, he almost wanted to cry. Once Doc Ong took out the jab, Caden stopped and did not burst into tears.

My brave and strong boy... He is such a good boy. I am really proud of him esp when Doc Ong said that he is better than most toddlers of his age as he can speak more words and more syallbuses. Caden, mama loves and is really proud of you.

Visit to the Army Open House 2009

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Deardear suggested to go to the Army Open House yesterday. He said it’s in Pasir Laba Camp which he was there before. He wanted to show off to his son. We woke up quite early this morning. Though I was not feeling too well (nose bleed cause maybe too heaty), I still force myself to go as I want to spend as much time with Caden and deardear because I was away for camp for the last 3 days....

OK.... mama is tired, so papa will take over today's post. As mentioned by dear dear, I really want to bring my little family of 3 to the camp where I really suffered during my NS days. 10 weeks in SISPEC, 3 weeks in School of Infantry Weapons and not to mention the numerous numerous times I have been back for training. Alright, cut the bragging, we woke up early and prepared ourselves for the trip and reached Pasir Laba camp at around 11++am. As soon as we were there, we realized that there was a POI operations show. This is basically showing how Singapore Home Team and Singapore Arms Forces will react to hostile terrorist attacks. It was impressive with explosions and gun shots as well as big vehicles putting up a spectacular show. Caden was not at all afraid of the loud noise and paid extra attention to the show. Think he really enjoyed it.

Once the show is over, we went down to the parade square to have our photos taken. Though it was very sunny and hot, we were really happy spending our time having our pictures taken with the vehicles.

After the photo session, we decided to cool ourselves down with some AC (air-con) and proceed to the indoor exhibition which showcases some of the advance technology of the SAF. There was also a starbucks temporary outlet there. Dear treated me to a cup of heavenly starbucks java chip frappuccino while she got a ice chocolate to share with caden. Greedy boy really enjoyed his drink too. And again, we captured a
few shots at the exhibition.

Next, we decided to visit some of the other exhibits there, but because it was time for Caden’s porridge, we instead detoured to the big Food Tent for our meal break. There were not many people and we managed to find a seat. It was a cooling area with lots of food stall. There was also a series of performance by SAF music and drama team. And while dear is feeding Caden, I went to buy burgers and drinks. Not ordinary burgers, but McChicken burgers. It was interesting to see Mac in the tent. Initially, during the feed, Caden was co-operative. But as the meal drags, Caden was getting restless, he was distracted.
He started fidgeting hard and push out everything that was in his mouth. And what was left after a long struggle was unfinished porridge and a very messy toddler.

We have to find a toilet to change him but as it is very far, we decided to get a balloon for Caden as well as walk around the other stalls to see if there is any interesting stuff. As we were doing so, we were presented with a nice surprise; there is actually a baby changing room in the big tent. Well, without further ado, we quickly went in and gave Mr Messy a big clean up. After that, we carried on exploring the stalls. We saw a temporary tattoo station and got our little family of 3 a tattoo each. Looking at the time, we have actually spent nearly an hour inside the enclosure it’s time to go to other exhibits, before Caden’s nap catch up with us.

But before we left, our attention was caught by this stall selling portable printers. This stall was setup by Alan Photos of Sim Lim Square fame. The sales staff was showing us this Canon Selphy photo printer. The printer costs less than $130, and the photo paper plus ink cost less than $35 for 108 photos. Thought that’s a really an economy way of printing photos, especially we need to fill up some photo frames in the house. So with a bit of persuading and demonstrating, we got the printer. We left it with the stall while we headed to the rest of the exhibits.

Finally, we reached our third location, the exhibits with the big machines. One of the reason why I want to bring Caden there, to see the tanks and helicopters, and boy, we were not disappointed. And as usual, there was our photo session there. We saw so many big machines, there were Super Puma, Chinooks, Tanks, Amoured Vehicles and also big trucks. Caden is absolutely delighted to see so many transportation equipments. We spent some time over there until we decided to go home as it was time for Caden’s nap.

Therefore, we collected the printer and took a cab home. It was indeed a long and tiring day, and we all had fun. Hopefully next year, we can come back again to see all the tanks and helicopters again.

Teacher's Day

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Today is Teacher's Day. So its holiday for me. I decided to spend all my time with Caden and not do any work at all.

After Caden's breakfast, I bathed him. Then I brought him to the temple to pray. After praying, we decided to pop by Chloe jiejie's house as its holiday. Lucky Chloe jiejie was still at home and not out. We spent about 45 minutes there. Caden was busy playing with Chloe jiejie. He loves playing with her stove and baby pram. God... So girlish... Haha..

Then we went home as Caden needs to take his daily dose of fruits. Its indeed a good morning spent with Caden.

Teacher's Day Celebration

Monday, August 31, 2009

Today is my school's teachers' day celebration. Had celebration in school till 11am. Had quite a few ex students coming back to visit me and that is what touched me the most. The most ex gift I have gotten is a puma wristlet from my ex president of student council and the most touched gift is from one of my exco who was my student when he is in sec 1. In the 4th batch of student council, I have 1 president, 1 vice president and 3 exco members. Among the 5 of them, 3 of them were in my sec 1 class and were selected by me. Thus, I really feel very close to them. This batch of exco is one which I know I will miss most. They are not the showy type, worked hard behind the curtain, take initiative, very unity and very respectful.

After the celebration in school, our SWC organised a bowling session for all teachers at Hougang Central. Had lots of fun bowling with my colleagues. Though I am lousy at bowling, I am so glad I have improved. haha...

In the evening, deardear suggested to go Plaza Sing to buy my sleeping bag for camp. Then we proceeded to Crystal Jade. Deardear wanna to celebrate Teacher's Day for me thus gave us a treat. After dinner, we went back home as my mum did not want Caden to be out too late at night on the Lunar 7th month.

Deardear is back!!!

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Woke up at 4 am in the morning.. Too excited as deardear is on the flight on his way back home then. Forced myself to carry on sleeping and then woke up at 7am again. This time, I know I cannot go back to sleep. However, looking at Caden, he is still sleeping like a log. I prepared myself first while Caden was still sleeping. At around 7.15, I tried to disturb Caden a little and he woke up.

At 7.45am, my mum, Caden and I set off to the airport. We arrived airport station at 8.15am. By then deardear's plane has already landed. We went to T3's macdonald to wait for deardear while Caden had his pancake breakfast. I was so glad to see deardear again at around 8.35am. Caden was also very delighted to see deardear...

Actually wanted to bring Caden to see the aeroplane. However, the sky was turning dark. We immediately took a cab back. We were so lucky, as it started to rain cats and dogs only after we have arrived home safely... What a great way to start the day and the coming week... Though I dread going for camp on this coming wed to fri, I am just so happy now to think too much...

Geylang Serai Pasar Malam

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Gong Gong came over this evening specially to bring Caden to the Geylang Serai Pasar Malam. However, Caden was too tired in the afternoon so he took a nap till 5.30pm. We left home and took a bus down to the hawker centre.

After taken our dinner, we walked around the pasar malam. Nothing much to interest us as its mainly for the Malays preparing for their Hari Raya Puasa. So we walked home after that while gong gong took a bus back to Selegie.

Tonight po po came to stay with us as deardear is not at home and she is worried about us. Moreover, she knows that we have to wake up early tomorrow morning to pick deardear up from the airport. So she decided to be around to help me. So glad that deardear can finally come home, esp after the big thing that happened in school.
